The Hellenic Literary Society was founded on May 19, 1934 with headquarters in Athens and professional writers as members. Its purpose and position is "the production of intellectual and cultural work while at the same time fighting for the rights of the Greek writers of the place as a whole".
Panagiotis Karousos is a composer of the Renaissance type whose music focuses on man. He became known through his operas (Prometheus Bound, Trachinies – Olympic Flame, Alexander the Great, Iliad), while recently he made an opening in popular songs in lyrics of great Greek and foreign poets. Many media have mentioned his work, while he has been awarded repeatedly in Greece and abroad, for his contribution to art.
