The opera "Trachiniae" by P. Karousos at the Lamia Municipal Theater

The opera "Trachiniae" by P. Karousos was successfully presented by the 4th High School of Lamia at the Lamia Municipal Theater of the Secondary Education of Regional Unit of Phthiotis of the administrative region of Central Greece. Also presented at the Alexandrio Convention Center of Loutraki for Secondary Education Schools of Corinth, and at the "Anna & Maria Kalouta" Theater for Athens Secondary Schools.
Friday, April 19, 2019. Over 800 students applause Sophocles' "Trachiniae" opera set to music by Panagiotis Karousos at the Lamia Municipal Theater.
The organization and presentation was done by Gotsamanis Odysseas, Director of the 4th Lamia High School and a philologist who thoroughly edited the texts of the students who interacted in a theatrical participation at the opera.
The opera was directed by soprano Irini Konsta who magically performed the tragic role of Deianira. Great bass Vasilis Asimakopoulos sung the roles of Hercules and Hyllos, the exceptional soprano Marisa Kioseoglou sung the role of Ioli, tenor Theodoros Birakos performed the role of Eurystheus, marvelous mezzo Katerina Botoni performed the role of Alkmeni,  and the pianist Pandelis Legakis had the musical direction at the piano.
The 4th Lamia High School Theater Group was also surprised by their performance of the students in the fine stage direction of their professor and philologist Yianna Fountouki. The distribution of roles included: Athina Giannouli: lead / Coryphae, Asimina Papadimitriou: Pythia, Georgia Burgani: lead, Argiro Papadimitriou: Pythia / choir, Konstantina Murad - Douxos: choir, Vassiliki Koufokosta: choir, Athanasia Vassiliou: choir, Ioanna Papadimitriou: Angelos, Elisabeth Papaleloudi: choir, Dimitra Souliotis: choir, Vassiliki Tsatsoula - Anagnostos: choir, Panagiotis Zalaora: Courier, Vassia Panopoulou: courier / choir, Christos Papa: Lichas
Composer Panagiotis Karousos with the support of Institute for Educational Policy of the Ministry of Culture of Greece has dynamically entered the opera in the schools in a remarkable event of education.
Students of the 6th Lamia High School were also attending the opera "Trachiniae", accompanied by the Principal of the School Mr. Androniki Koutsonika and the Professors.

Vivian Argiri, Deputy Mayor for Education, Welfare and Culture of Lamia Municipality, gave a greeting and congratulations, and Papayannopoulou Polyxeni, Head of School Activities of Secondary Education of Phthiotis attended with many professors, School Counselors, teachers, students' parents and guardians.
