Ilias I. Katsos - 2020-2021 World Eminent Man of Real Estate and Construction Management Market Award

 

Tonight in Athens I am honored and humbled that I will receive the 2020-2021 World Eminent Man of Real Estate and Construction Management Market Award at the Black Tie Who is Who International Awards Gala. It is entitled "Ελλάδα, ο Κόσμος όλος!" and under the auspices of the Hellenic Ministry of Finance , the Ministry of Development & Investment , the Ministry of Finance , the Ministry of Tourism and EOT. It is taking place at Vouliagmeni Lake and the Pre Event was yesterday at the Royal Olympic Athens Hotel. Although I could not make it due to prior business commitments they did request a short video which I sent them a couple of weeks ago. Fellow colleagues in Athens will be there for the occasion, and to accept the Award for me in my absence. This long awaited event was postponed a couple of times last year due to the Covid pandemic.

Great concert with the Songs of Liberty by Panagiotis Karousos took place at the Theatro Vrahon (Melina Mercouri Open Air Theatre) of the Vyronas

 

Thursday 30 September. The impressed concert with the Songs of Liberty by Panagiotis Karousos took place at the Theatro Vrahon (Melina Mercouri Open Air Theatre) of the Vyronas Municipality for the celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821.

Fine singers excited the audience led by the amazing Eleni Roda, Dimitris Kanellos, Erofili Tzanou, Theodoros Birakos, Georgia Siakavara, Tzortzina Antonakaki, and Kyriaki Vlachogianni. Accompanied by the wonderful musicians Giannis Lambrakis (bouzouki), Andreas Niakaris (percussion), Nikos Tsachtsiris (double bass), and maestro Andreas Prionas (piano and music direction). The recitations of poems were made exceptionally by Renata Anagnostopoulou, Giota Karahaliou, and Spyros Haidoutis. The spectacular Dance Group HAN Nikaia participated under the tutelage of the choreographer Rena Vegou.

The exceptional concert was prefaced by the mayor of Byronas Municipality Grigoris Katopodis, and the Deputy Regional Head of the Central Sector of Athens George Dimopoulos.

Attended by Kokkalis Dimitris Deputy Mayor of Financial Administrative Services and Chairman of the Economic Committee, Karagiannis Michael Deputy Mayor of Technical Services and Chairman of the Quality of Life Committee, Spyropoulos Christos Deputy Mayor of Social Protection, Plakidas George Chairman of the Board of the Municipality of Byron, the municipal councilors Ifanti Sotiroula, and Kioupi Ioulia, and Eleni Vassilopoulou Regional Councilor of the Attica Region and Vice President of the Cultural Network of Byron and Daphne - Ymittos, (Vrachon Theater Festival), Greek-Canadian journalist Zoi Iliopoulou, and Dr. Costas Pappas (Nuclear Physics) from the Hellenic-Canadian Congress.

The presented poems Set to Music by composer Panagiotis Karousos were: The Enchanted Fountain (Costas Krystallis), Remembrance (Dionysios Solomos), Approach (Yiannis Ritsos), Wayfarer (Paul Nirvana), How much I love you (Yannis Vilaras), Τhe child in the river (Georgios Vizyinos), Silence (Kostis Palamas), Parthenon (Kostis Palamas), You the sweet (George Drosinis), Caryatids (Ioannis Polemis), Elevation (Nikiforos Vrettakos), In an old church (Miltiadis Malakasis), In the night club (Napoleon Lapathiotis), Learn the pain (Ioannis Gryparis), My world (Karl Marx), You will pull forward (Manolis Anagnostakis) Flowers of the cliff (Georgios Drosinis), Tomorrow Light (Alekos Panagoulis).

It concerns the new compositional work of the renowned Greek-Canadian composer Panagiotis Karousos. The composer of classical music known through his operas (Prometheus bound, Trachiniae - Olympic Flame, Alexander the Great), Oratorio: "The Song of the Nations", the Symphony of Liberty, etc., set to music poems by great Greek and foreign poets. A tribute to the 200 years of poetry (1821-2021) 200 Years of the Greek Revolution that we celebrate this year.

A remarkable moment was the performance of Eleni Roda in the song "Caryatids" in poetry by Ioannis Polemis inside the Melina Mercouri Theater where the unforgettable actress started the effort for the return to Greece the Parthenon Marbles.

Also emblematic was the interpretation of Dimitris Kanellos in the song "My world" in poetry by Karl Marx.

Audience gave to all artists and songs a vigorous round of applause with enthusiasm.

A big congratulations for this exceptional concert in the Municipality of Byron, which once again is a pioneer in quality concerts and culture.
