Big success for the opera "Trachiniae" by Panagiotis Karousos directed by Irini Konsta at an Open Amphitheatre in Attica, Greece

Thursday August 30, 2018. At Koropi Municipal Open-Theater “Park of Dexameni” was successfully presented the opera “Trachiniae” in the stage direction of soprano Irini Konsta. Applause, autographs and enthusiasm from the audience for the great protagonist Irini Konsta.
The dramatic soprano Irene Konsta directed and starred in the tragic role of Deianira literally giving soul to this great role of the opera Trachiniae.

Sophocles' lyrical tragedy directed by soprano Irene Konsta and music by Panagiotis Karousos was successfully presented by the Municipality of Kropia at the Open Municipal Theater of Square of Koropi Park, in the presence of the Mayor of Kropia, Mr. Dimitrios Kiousis and many people.

Exceptional soprano Mariza Kioseoglou played and sang the role of Iole, especially was touching in the scene of her death by Deianira.
Bass Orpheas Tsarekas sang the role of Hyllus with nice vocal tones and appeared particularly in the amazing duel "Hyllus and Makaria" with fine soprano Rea Voudouri.
The interpretation of the artists and the highly aesthetic value of the great soprano Irini Konsta highlighted the opera "Trachiniae" as an opera of a classical repertoire. The talented pianist Pantelis Legakis had the musical direction on the piano.
Composer Panagiotis Karousos thanked the Municipality of Kropia and Mayor Dimitrios Kiousis for their creative cooperation in the promotion of the Greek opera. Among the attendees were the famous mezzo-soprano of the Lyrical Stage Maria Marketou, Mr. Drivas Athanasios, Director of the 42nd Junior High School of Athens, and others.

It should be noted that Panagiotis Karousos's "Trachiniae" opera had a triumphant debut at the Lincoln Center in New York on March 26, 2016 under the name "Olympic Flame". On July 5, 2016, re-appeared in the United States at the Athens Square Park Summer Festival 2016 presented with American opera singers organized by Billy Chrissochos.
