A triumphant concert with works by Panagiotis Karousos at the Athens Concert Hall under the auspices of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands

 

Wednesday, April 26, 2023. A triumphant concert was presented at the Athens Concert Hall with works by Panagiotis Karousos under the auspices of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands.

The works of Panagiotis Karousos were presented: Oratorio "Song of the Nations" dedicated to the United Nations Organization and excerpts from the operas: Alexander the Great - Prometheus Bound - Homer's Iliad, Trachiniae-Olympic Flame.

The wonderful lyrical singers participated: Olga Skekliou, Irini Konsta, Panagiotis Diplaros, Rea Voudouri, Giannis Dareios, Nina Giatra, Argyris Kontonikolaou, Niki Zacharopoulou, Vasiliki Paraskevopoulou, Dimitris Kotarides (cello), Christiana Manou (piano). Panagiotis Karousos (composer). The Music Library Lilian Voudouri of Megaron "Music Friends" Association at the Athens Concert Hall was filled with an elite audience who applauded the artists who compensated the world by giving their best in their wonderful performances. The music of the composer Panagiotis Karousos received rave reviews.

Ioannis Maronitis, president of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and of the international cultural organization International Action Art, addressed the greeting and prefaced the concert.

The soprano Olga Skekliou made a great impression in the song "Maria Callas per sempre" by the music composer Panagiotis Karousos dedicated to Maria Callas – Anniversary Year UNESCO_2023.

Ioannis Maronitis, president of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands presented an honorary plaque to the composer Panagiotis Karousos and emphasized: "It is an honor for me to award an honorary plaque to the genius composer Panagiotis Karousos, who has dedicated his life to the promotion of Greek culture and music. It is an honor for the country that he participates in the upcoming national elections of Greece on the ballot of the PASOK Western Sector of Athens, and I wish him a position in the Ministry of Culture because he deserves it."

The concert was honored with their presence, the well-known fashion designer Billy Joe, president of the Kolonaki Sun Lions Club, Petros Salatas, baritone of the National Opera, Foutsis Ioannis, Vice-President of the Hellenic-Russian Friendship Association, Giorgos Stavrakis, writer, member of the Society of Greek Writers, Roula Kavakioti Dean of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands.
