Tuesday, April 17, 2018. In the War Museum of Athens took place the excellent Program of the Ministry of Education "The Prosody as a Connecting Ring of the Opera with the Ancient Greek Tragedy".
The approved program of the Scientific Institution of the
Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, Institute for
Educational Policy (IEP) for Secondary Education includes an introductory
seminar on opera and the presentation of the adaptation of the musical drama
"Prometheus Bound" set to music by composer Panagiotis Karousos.
The opera "Prometheus Bound" was performed by
renowned opera artists led by bass Vasilis Asimakopoulos as a stage director
and protagonist Prometheus, soprano Irene Konsta as unparalleled Io, the
incredible soprano Vanessa Kalkanis as Oceanid, the wonderful tenor Theodoros
Birakos as Ocean and Hermes and the illustrious mezzo Katerina Botoni as
Violence and Goddess Athena. At the piano was Pantelis Legakis.
The co-ordination was done by Dr. Chrysoula Tsigri, School
Counselor of French language for Athens, which has very well presented the
history roots of the Opera.
The 26th General Lyceum of Athens (Maraslio), the 16th
General Lyceum of Athens, the 56th General Lyceum of Athens, and the 6th
Technical Lyceum of Athens (EPAL) participated.
The program was honored with the presence of Mrs. Ioanna
Psina, Director of the Athens Secondary Education Directorate.
The Director of the 26th General Lyceum of Athens (Maraslio),
Mr. Athina Goutzinopoulou, made an in-depth presentation on "The Diary of
Prometheus".
It was a great interaction with students who, with much
interest and joy, attributed at the texts of Aeschylus.
The 26th General Lyceum of Athens (Maraslio) participated
with extracts from the tragedy "Prometheus Bound", edited by the
educational scholars Sfakianaki Maria and Stavroula Ziazopoulou. The student
Prokopis Pavlos has read the text of the Prometheus - Zeus controversy, and
with the teacher Aikaterini Panagioula Diakogeorgiou, they have spoken the
dialogue of the prophecy from the First Episode of the Tragedy.
A remarkable presentation of the Second Choir (2nd Stage) of
the tragedy
"Prometheus Bound” of Aeschylus translated by Gryparis
was made by the students of the 26th Lyceum of Athens, Marasliou: Tzortzina
Panagiotounakou, Daphne Medleton, Maria Tsitsara, Jenny Tziakou, Emily Hintri,
Ioanna Fatourou, Dimitra Anagnostopoulou, Ioanna Roumelioti, Angeliki Vamvakas,
Electra Tzortzaki, Eleni Fotou, Korina Fakiola.
The 16th General Lyceum of Athens participated with extracts
from the tragedy "Prometheus Bound", edited by Professor Agapi
Kaminioti, Philologist. The student Orestis Lambiris recited the text about the
arts from the 2nd Episode, while a different interpretation of the Second Scene
of the Nymphs Oceanids was made by the students: Niki Haidemenou, Eleni
Titopoulou and Adamantia Selimis.
A wonderful performance of the Second Choir of the opera
"Prometheus Bound" was presented by the students of the choir of the
40th General Lyceum of Athens under the direction of the philologist and
musician Tita Mavromatis. Students: Voutsis Argentina, Doxopoulou Natalia,
Tsikna Natalia, Tahtatzi Gogo, Stefanopoulou Dimitra, Dicken Efi, Touloumi
Penny, Tsogrima Natasa, Tsaprali Chryssa.
The teachers were present: Pangalos Stavros, School
Counselor of Pedagogical Responsibility of the 6th EPAL of Athens, Michail
Papastylianou, Director of the 56th Lyceum of Athens, Eleni-Sofia Masmanidou,
Director of the 16th Lyceum of Athens, and Mr. Nikolaos Nikas, Director of the
6th EPAL of Athens where he addressed a greeting.
Also from the 6th EPAL of Athens attended the teachers:
Nikolaos Iospis Mechanical Engineer, Kostas Evangelos Mechanical Engineer,
Anastasia Vamvakidou Legal and Political Sciences, Sfyri Maria Executor
Nursery, Eleni Mantzouka (Nursing).
From the 56th General Lyceum of Athens, the teachers were
present: Voziki Angeliki, Vourna Konstantina, Ioannis Zikoudis, Evangelia
Karagiannopoulou Educational Psychology.
From the 26th General Lyceum of Athens (Maraslio) were
attended the teachers: Dafermos Afroditi, Andreas Karantzas, Myrto Apostolou,
Eleni Paraforou, Xenikou Angeliki, Χάρι Γιώτα, Ρασσιάς Κωνσταντίνος, Maria
Παυλοπούλου, Mihail Argyriou, Gerakanaki.
The event was helped by Mr. Ioannis Korodimos, Head of the
Film Archive of the Athens War Museum, and the student Ioannis Karampinis of
the 6th EPAL of Athens.
At the end of the opera, the established Training
Certificates were given to the participants.
In this important presentation of the "Prometheus
Bound" opera in the Athens War Museum, the students of the schools were
the leaders showing their best in the specialized program of the Ministry of
Education.
More than 500 students enthusiastically applauses the opera,
the lyric opera artists and all participating students and teachers. Well done
to all the participants and the organizers of this excellent high educational
musical and theatrical program of the Institute of Educational Policy.
