Concert of Panagiotis Karousos at the Temple of Nemean Zeus

 

The classical music concert of the composer Panagiotis Karousos was successfully presented on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the Temple of Nemean Zeus in Ancient Nemea with the collaboration of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Corinth. The Musical Ensemble "Rapsodes" with ancient ritual dance participated. Poetry set to music: Eros, unconquered in combat, Ode to love from Sophocles’s Antigone, the "Dance of Artemis" Rhea Voudouri (soprano), Homeric hymn "To Aphrodite": Rea Voudouri (soprano), (1st World performance), Aria of Beautiful Helen: Irini Konsta (soprano), Duet from the opera Iliad by Homer: Irini Konsta - Rea Voudouri, Parthenon (Kostís Palamas): Giannis Darios (tenor), Caryatids (Ioannis Polemis): Irini Konsta, Rea Voudouri, Giannis Darios. The exceptional lyrical artists, led by the great soprano Irini Konsta, were accompanied on the piano by Christiana Manou. The program was presented by the distinguished music composer Panagiotis Karousos. The Beautification and Cultural Association of Arch. Kleonas “O FOKAS” also participated with its impressive dance performance of traditional dances. They danced Greek traditional dances, Kalamatiano, Tsamiko, Syrto, and circular dances that refer to the worship of Artemis, the goddess of hunting, protector of the mountains and forests, who prepared the Nymphs Dance at Delphi, for her twin brother Apollo. The coverage - screening and videography of the event was done by the World Philosophical Forum and Ioannis Galanis, member of the WPF Board of Directors and General Director of EN.P.A.N. (Associations for Culture and Development). It was a very nice event of Circle dances, known as choreia, with singing and chanting and Cultural Tradition at the emblematic archaeological site of the Temple of Nemean Zeus in Ancient Nemea.
