A GLAMOROUS CHRISTMAS CONCERT OF THE UNESCO CLUB OF PIRAEUS & ISLAND

Thursday, December 27, 2018. An unforgettable Christmas concert was presented to the Cultural Center of Galatsi Municipality "Kamini" with beautiful arias and famous songs in the spirit of Christmas, and extracts from the work Oratorio: "The Light of Christianity" by composer Panagiotis Karousos.
The concert was held under the auspices of the Club for UNESCO Piraeus & Islands in the framework of the Christmas events of the Cultural & Sports Organization of Galatsi Municipality.
The concert was honored by Ioannis Maronitis, President of the UNESCO Club of Piraeus & Islands and Member of the Executive Board of the World Federation of Unions, Clubs and Centers for Europe and North America (WFUCA).
The program was opened by the composer Panagiotis Karousos and Margarita Mandilara, President of the Cultural and Sports Organization of the Municipality of Galatsi, followed by the star of the evening soprano Irene Konsta, who also had the Artistic Direction of the concert.
The glamorous Greek diva of opera Irene Consta in a great vocal form literally stole the show and the hearts of the audience.
She performed with great musicality and feeling the aria of Maria Magdalena by P. Karousos as well as the aria "Heia, in den Bergen" by E. Kálmán's Die Csárdásfürstin's operetta who sparked the audience in spontaneous applause.
The impressive bass Vassilis Asimakopoulos was also applauded by interpreting the wonderful "Hymn of Love" by Apostle Paul in P. Karousos' melody, Irving Berlin's famous White Christmas song, and "Torna a Surriento" by Ernesto De Curtis.
Tenor Theodoros Birakos interpreted the "Hymn to Jesus Christ" by P. Karousos and the well-known Italian song "Dicitencello Vuie".
At the concert participated also the tenor John Britsas, while the artists were accompanied by Pantelis Legakis.
It was a wonderful melodic evening with the crowded hall applauding and congratulating the artists, especially the star Irine Konsta.
