Panagiotis Karousos concert at the temple of Aphaia

 

Aegina, Saturday, August 8, 2026. The ancient orchesis concert at the temple of Aphaia in Aegina with works by Panagiotis Karousos was held with great success. The exceptional artists participated: Rhea Voudouri, Maria Grigoriou, Maria Kioroglou, Giannis Darios, Aggeliki Pitsoli, and Giannos Kotzias, who were applauded by 200 tourists who were at the archaeological site and received many congratulations and the admiration of those present from all over the world. After the presentation at the temple of Aphaia and following the cultural activity in Aegina, the Ancient Orchesis Musical Ensemble "Rhapsodes" participated in the inauguration of the New Museum of Aegina with works by the internationally renowned music composer Panagiotis Karousos. The Ministry of Culture, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus and the Islands and the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) in Beijing, inaugurated the exhibition “Distant Mountains and Rivers: Spiritual Homeland”. The exhibition with 20 works of art by 11 Chinese artists is presented at the building of the Kapodistrian Orphanage / Former Prison in Aegina on Kapodistriou and Faneromeni Streets, which will house the Diachronic Museum of Aegina of the Ministry of Culture. Representatives of the Embassy of China in Greece, the Head of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Piraeus and the Islands Dr. Anna-Vasiliki Karapanagiotou, the mayor of Aegina, Yannis Zorbas, Ioannis Maronitis, President of the European & North American Federation of Clubs and Associations for UNESCO, the internationally renowned composer Panagiotis Karousos, Yannis Galanis of ENPAN - Associations for Culture & Development and the World Philosophical Forum and a large crowd. After the presentation, Mr. Ioannis Maronitis, president of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and international action Art, awarded honorary plaques to the organizers of the museum event and to the participating artists of the Musical Ensemble "Rhapsodes" Rea Voudouri, Maria Kioroglou, Maria Grigoriou, Yannos Kotzias, Yannis Darrios, Panagiotis Karousos. The lyrical concert of ancient Greek poetry by composer Panagiotis Karousos presented works of set poetry from ancient Greek literature: "Love invincible in battle" The hymn to love, 3rd stanza from Sophocles' Antigone, arias, duets and choral pieces from the operas "Prometheus Bound" by Aeschylus and Homer's Iliad, Hymn to Virtue by Aristotle, and "Eternal Fire - Everything flows" by Heraclitus. The Ancient Orchesis concert by music composer Panagiotis Karousos has been presented at the Great Propylaea of ​​the Archaeological Site of Eleusis, at the Temple of Nemean Zeus in Ancient Nemea, at the Temple of Artemis Brauronia (Great Stoa of Artemis Brauronia), and at the Sanctuary of the Egyptian Gods in Nea Makri (Brexiza).
