Tenor Demetrios Jussi Tsinopoulos awarded from American Scandinavian Society

Acclaimed tenor Demetrios Jussi Tsinopoulos was awarded with the American Scandinavian Society Cultural Grant 2016, by the A.S.S. Vice President for Finland, Heli Sirviö.
The awards and board meeting took place at the amazing Pier A in battery park and were also followed by a banquet at the same location.
Demetrios Jussi Tsinopoulos performed two songs in thanks to the society, to celebrate the 125 years of Jean Sibelius and in respect to his heritage.
The first song Svarta Rosor(Black rose) by J. Sibelius and Finlandia by J. Sibelius essentially Finland's second national anthem. 
Accompanist was Tor Morten Kjøsnes.
The organization is already planning more events where he will perform for them over the summer and during other festivities.
Main sponsors were: Nasdaq, Scandinavian airlines (SAS), novo Nordisk, and shipco transport.
Demetrios Jussi Tsinopoulos recently performed the role of Hercules in the opera "Olympic Flame" by Panagiotis Karousos at Lincoln Center with great reviews.
The Lincoln Center presentation of the Olympic Flame was organized by Billy Chrissochos, the Hellenic American Center of the Arts and the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York. The Hellenic American Orchestra and soloists was conducted by Jestin Pieper.
