Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” explained!

In Book VII (7) of Plato’s Republic, Socrates presents the most beautiful and famous metaphor in Philosophy: THE ALLEGORY OF THE CAVE, which illustrates the effects of education on the human soul. Education moves the philosopher through the stages on the divided line, and ultimately brings him to the “FORM OF THE GOOD.” This conviction, that enlightened individuals have an obligation to the rest of society, and that a good society must be one in which the truly wise- THE PHILOSOPHER KING – are the rulers.

The Quest for Prometheus hosts, Billy Chrissochos and George Selinsky, discuss and explain everything about Plato’s Cave. They have dug up original exclusive footage from the vaults of Byzantine Crown Productions and Billy’s Rock group Porphyra’s Shine video, that was based on Plato’s Cave Analogy!
