The Macedonian Dynasty of Byzantine Greece, 862-1057 ADAn online lecture by the Porphyra Foundation and Vassilios (Billy) Chrissochos Presented originally by Politismos Museum of Greek History www.PolitismosMuseum.org Vassilios Chrissochos has been a NYC educator and is currently a lecturer. His love for Alexander the Great and Byzantium saw him travel extensively through Greece, Serbia, Russia and Turkey. He is a historical consultant who has given presentations on various Hellenic themed subjects such as “The Historical Significance of OHI Day,” “Byzantium’s Macedonian Dynasty,” "Macedonia Through the Ages: Greece’s indomitable force of Hellenism" and “1821: the Liberation of Greece” amongst many others. He is the primary composer, historical consultant and producer of “Anna and Vladimir” which debuted at Carnegie Hall and Off Broadway. Set in the year 988AD, the story chronicles Princess Anna Porphyrogenita and her marriage to Grand Prince Vladimir of the Kievan Rus. His new musical project is "The Legend of Alexander the Great" which will debut in the summer of 2019. This new show will dwell deeper into the Biblical prophecies and Medieval legends as well as the history behind Greece’s greatest philosopher King. Vassilios Chrissochos is the AHEPA District 6 Director of Hellenism for all of NY. He is also the AHEPA Hermes Chapter 186 Astoria Secretary. He is the UNESCO Piraeus NY Director of Modern Music, an awarded music video editor and member of ASCAP. He founded the Greek Artists Guild, the Hellenic American Center of the Arts and the Alexander the Great Living History Society. He is also a REALTOR with Metropolis Realty. He has a B.A. in Political Science/History and Minor in Education from Queens College.
To promote cultural ties between the United States of America and Greece through Music and the Arts.
