Byzantium for Beginners lecture by Billy Chrissochos

New York, Sunday, 11 November 2018. The Greek Literature Book Club presented its Inaugural first panel discussion “Byzantium for Beginners" at Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.
Historian and musician Mr. Billy Chrissochos gave a lecture in the subject of “The Macedonian Renaissance of Byzantium’s Macedonian Dynasty.”
The presentation featured a distinguished group of speakers, Rev. Fr. John Vlahos, Nektarios Antoniou, Vassilios Chrissochos, and Daniel Padovano. President of Club, Jeannie Kouros, was master of ceremonies.
Billy Chrissochos declared: "This is what inspired me to write the Rock Opera “Anna and Vladimir".
I wanted to thank the president and good friend Jeannie Kouros and to congratulate the other speakers, Father John Vlachos, Daniel Padovano and Nektarios S. Antoniou. I wanted to thank my wife Despina Chrissochos for cooking two delicious trays of Pastitsio and helping behind the scenes. My AHEPA brothers were there to support us from the #Delphi25 Chapter and our District Governor Demi Pamboukes. Plenty of sponsors such as the Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, our #Astoria AHEPA #Hermes 186 president George Zouvelos and Fiat Lux Studios, Lt. Governor and President of AHEPA Delphi 25 Ilias I. Katsos, Mike’s Diner, James Poll, Three Star Diner, Greek Kitchen, Porphyra Foundation and many, many others who helped make this a successful lecture. Thanks to Eleni Sakellis from the National Herald for covering the event and Mike Giakoumelos and MGTV, and my good friend George Selinsky for televising it live! And we also commemorated Veterans Day prior to the event. #Porphyra #AnnaandVladimir #AHEPA#GreekLitBookClub
