Renaissance in modern Greek opera created with "Prometheus Bound" by Aeschylus, directed by Vasilis Asimakopoulos and music by Panagiotis Karousos

On Thursday, August 6th crowds filled the open Saras theater in Markopoulo to attend the 'first opera presentation on Sara's theater "as stated the Deputy Mayor for Culture, Education and Sport of the Municipality Markopoulou Maria Kimpizi. She welcoming the artists: "it is a great pleasure and honor that we present such a remarkable work with extraordinary artists and an internationally recognized composer" she said to people.
The Greek Canadian composer Panayiotis Karousos paralleling the myth of Prometheus to the country's current situation, said: "the rebel Prometheus resisted the power and did not bend forward in any memorandum, "the Not" of Prometheus in front of Tyrants now is more symbolic and seems more topical than ever'.
The artists led by Vasilis Asimakopoulos so much impressed with an excellent interpretation that charmed the audience. No one moved, not even a whisper was heard, all they did absolute quietness committed to show.
Stage director Vasilis Asimakopoulos created a stunning backdrop world where the viewer initiated into the magical world of opera and lyrical singing.
On behalf of John Maronitis, President of the Group for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and Vice President of the World Federation of Clubs, Centres and Associations UNESCO (WFUCA) for Europe and North America were awarded the artists, Sotiris Methenitis, Mayor of Markopoulo Mesogaias, Maria Kimpizi, Deputy Mayor for Education, Culture and Social Welfare Markopoulo Mesogaias, and John Politis, President of the Benefit Municipal Corporation Markopoulo KDEM.
The amazing lyric artists with beautiful voices that interpreted the project were: Prometheus: Vasilis Asimakopoulos, Io - Athena: Irene Konsta, Ocean / Hermes: Anastasios Stellas, Oceanid / Goddess Hera: Maria Lyberakou.
The protagonists accompanied by Rania Zetta, viola and Vivi Kleisoura piano.
The lyric tragedy "Prometheus Bound" is the first Greek popular opera achieved great success wherever they occur. From Epidaurus in Alsos Peristeri has always applauded and leave the best impressions!
In 2014 he was presented to the UN in Manhattan and New York won the First Prize of UNESCO participation among 80 countries!
