2015. Greek-Canadians are proud for the success of Panagiotis Karousos in
Greece. He did his debute with the presentation of his opera “Prometheus Bound”
at Place des Arts, Montreal, in 1994. Until 2000 the opera was presented in
many theater around Montreal and also brought to Los Angeles. From 2006 his did
many presentations with his Orchestral works and operas in USA and Canada.
From 2011 he
returned to Greece to present his works. His is the only Greek opera composer
to succeed popularity and presented his operas even in the ancient theater of
Epidaurus. He did more than 100 presentations in Greece manly around the
capital of Athens. This continuous succes will make him the Greek National
Opera Composer.
Recently the
Municipality of Kallithea in collaboration with the Group for UNESCO Arts,
Literature and Science of Greece presented successfully the Greek opera
"Prometheus Bound" in the Municipal Cinema "Calypso".
"With great pleasure we present the lyrical tragedy" Prometheus Bound " by Panagiotis Karousos starring the highly acclaimed opera performers Vassilis Asimakopoulos, Irene Konsta, Anastasios Stellas, Maria Lyberakou, accompanied by Victoria Kiazimi in the piano and Rania Zetta in viola.

The work has created a unique history in modern Greek opera. The Rebel Prometheus brings the fire of knowledge and the universal message of resistance to tyrannical powers. In today's violent and turbulent times Prometheus hero brings a message of hope. The kind of opera has global reach and visibility is type teaching, spiritual uplifting and mental progress.
Not only the high lyricism of Aeschylus and the symbolism the Titan Prometheus excites audiences but also is the inspired musical creation Panagiotis Karousos that waking up the stem of unusual feelings to the listeners.

Mr. Asimakopoulos
he performed the leading role of Prometheus perfectly and consubstantial was
like a modern Prometheus, Not only he interprets perfectly the role but seems
to live on the stage.
Soprano Irene Konsta in the role of Io was the whole ancient Greek tragic personalized all Greece from ancient times until today in the face of the heroine. She simply was great.
Tenor Anastasios Stellas enchanted with a wonderful voice in the roles of Hermes and Ocean.
Soprano Maria Lyberakou impressed with an excellent vocal technique in the arias with most difficult vocal acrobatics as Oceanida and Goddess Hera.
Fine pianist Victoria Kiazimi was a maestro in the piano, and Rania Zetta was in viola.
At the opera attended the Board of directors of the Group for UNESCO Arts, Literature and Sciences of Greece, and many people of letters arts and arts among them the writer Mr. Pissanos.
