The true measure of a man is not found in his title, his position, or what others can do for him.
It is found in how he treats the Brother who needs encouragement, the chapter that needs support, the young man looking for mentorship, the elder Brother who deserves respect, and the community that may never be able to repay him.
That is the spirit of AHEPA.
As AHEPA Brothers, we are called to serve with humility, dignity, and purpose. Our mission is not only to preserve our Hellenic ideals, but to live them — through service, philanthropy, education, civic responsibility, and brotherhood.
A true Brother does not ask, “What can I gain?”
He asks, “How can I help?”
When we lift one another up, when we support our chapters, when we serve our communities, and when we treat every person with respect regardless of status or benefit, we strengthen the very foundation of AHEPA.
Brotherhood is measured by service.
Leadership is measured by humility.
Character is measured when nothing is expected in return.
That is the true meaning of this quote — and that is the standard we should always strive to uphold as AHEPA Brothers.
