The opera "Prometheus Bound" at the Ministry of Culture

 
Friday, November 2019. The educational performance of Aeschylus's opera "Prometheus Bound" by Panagiotis Karousos and directed by Irini Konsta was successfully presented at the Amphitheater of the Ministry of Culture & Sport's of Greece main building.
The opera "Prometheus Bound" is presented in Secondary Schools with a Seminar: "Prosody as a link between the opera and the ancient Greek tragedy", is a program approved by the Ministry of Education, Research and Religions (IEP), with the support of the Ministry of Culture & Sports.
The 4th General High School of Athens and the Secondary School of Intercultural Education of Athens participated in this presentation of the opera and seminar program.
In the Experimental part of the program, the students had the opportunity to see established artists with wonderful voices performing the Prometheus Bound opera with Staging and Costumes. Starring: Prometheus: Vasilis Asimakopoulos - bass, Io: Irini
Konsta - soprano, Goddess Athena / Violence: Katerina Botoni - soprano, Oceanid: Marianthi Grigoriadou - soprano. Pantelis Legakis had the musical direction on the piano.

In The Theoretical Part of the Program, Seminar: As a link between opera and ancient Greek tragedy, the composer Panagiotis Karousos in his opening statement make a speech on Persody and the school pupils participated at the example.
The theatrical part, for the work of Prometheus Bound, was presented by the Athens Secondary School of Intercultural Education, curated by philologist Basiliki Lambrinou with the students: Prometheus: David Nandy, State: George Balbin, Via: Al Roman Abdulah.
The examples of Musical Prosody from phrases of Aeschylus 'Prometheus Bound' tragedy in ancient Greek were interpreted by the Athens Intercultural High School Choir under the direction of musician Vassiliki Theodoropoulou. Chorus: Al Roman Abdullah, Lychee Sarah Ivanova Gkerkana, Prifti Claudia, Ngjela Samuel, Vikrama Samina, Cristo Angela Ulusoy Nain, Raptis Theodosius Routsis Spiro Riolli Giousrat, Boktor John Sidiki Kioui Paris Begkam Simon, Ompeneoua Miriam, Tazik Mobina.
Io's dialogue with Prometheus was announced by students from the theater group of the 4th
General High School of Athens, curated by the philologists Athena Koroulis and Stelios Sioutis, with students: Prometheus: Michalis Georgiadis, and Io: Angeliki Kapralou.
Gavrilis Daphne, Director of the Athens Intercultural Education Gymnasium, and Vassilopoulos Nikolaos, Director of the 4th Athens General High School, gave the greetings. The coordinator was Panagiotis Karousos, composer, who together with the directors gave the Educational Certificates of Training to the participants.
With the pioneering program of the Prometheus Bound opera of the Educational Policy Institute of the Ministry of Education, Research and Religions, Secondary school students and learners learn how through ancient Prosody the ancient Greek tragedy is linked to the opera, and they understand the musical language of ancient Greek literature. Along with participating in the opera with renowned lyric artists, they experience an experience that will be unforgettable and will give them a boost in the magical world of opera and further engage with classical music and ancient drama.
The applause and excitement of the students were impressive, as was the attention they showed during the opera to the lyric artists and throughout the program.
