The opera Prometheus Bound was successfully presented at the 9th Athens High School

Friday, February 14, 2020. The 9th Athens Gymnasium successfully presented the educational performance of the opera Prometheus Bound by Aeschylus, set to music by Panagiotis Karousos and Directed by Irini Konsta. The roles were beautifully interpreted by the lyric artists: Vasilis Asimakopoulos (Prometheus), Irene Konsta, Katerina Botoni (Violence / Goddess Athena), Theodoros Birakos (Ocean / Hermes), Marianthi Grigoriadou (Oceanid). Pantelis Legakis, piano.
The students were constantly applauded the notable lyric singers. In the Seminar: "The Prosody as a link between opera and ancient Greek tragedy" were presented by Divanis Evangelos, Director of the 9th Athens Gymnasium, Anastasia Baliaka, Deputy Director, Philologists: Efthimia Gagali, Fotini Stefani. Musician: Eleni Louloudi. Coordination and lecture: Panagiotis Karousos, Composer.
The 9th Athens High School Theater Group and the Choir of the 9th Athens High School participated. Technicals: Christina Stolli, Mathematician.
Panagiotis Karousos's "Prometheus Bound" opera is an approved program of the Educational Policy Institute, as an educational performance with a Training Seminar for Secondary Schools of the Ministry of Education of Greece with the support of the Greek Ministry of Culture & Sports.

Excerpts from Author Penelope Delta’s book, “In the Heroic Age of Basil II, Emperor of Byzantium,” will also be presented.
