On Sunday, January 11, 2026, the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus & Islands in collaboration with the International Organization ACTION ART presented with great success excerpts from the opera Iliad by the internationally renowned composer Panagiotis Karousos at the Peace and Friendship Stadium (SEF).
The Musical Ensemble “Rapsodes” participated, led by the well-known soprano Rea Voudouri, who performed the role of Beautiful Helen, and received warm applause.
Tenor Giannis Darios sang with her in the role of Hector, and also participated soprano Maria Grigoriou and alto Sofia Daraki, with Christiana Manou accompanied them on the piano.
The opera was accompanied by the Dance group Caryatides of INTERNATIONAL ACTION ART in choreographies and costumes by the painter - choreographer Anna Golovinskaya. Caryatides: Kalinka Tepliakova, Nantezvnta Karniouska, Irina Tsilimigra, Olga Demidova, Margarita Kozokari, Asea Slokvenko Olena.
The composer Panagiotis Karousos was awarded an honorary plaque by Ioannis Maronitis, President of the UNESCO Club of Piraeus and Islands and of the World Federation of UNESCO Clubs, Associations and Centers (WFUCA) for Europe and North America.
