The opera "Iliad" is an original creation of musical theater, based on the thematic axis of Mythology with the epic "Iliad of Homer" of ancient Greek literature. A connection of cultural heritage with modern creation. Homer's Iliad as a thematic axis permeates all types of Art and lends itself to new interpretations. It appeals to a wide range of viewers (from children to adults) and being so multi-faceted and multi-layered, we can highlight aspects that are not widely known.
The Opera/Oratorio "ILLIAD" by Homer with music and libretto by Panagiotis Karousos has been approved to be presented in the context of the Approval of the Educational Program-Festival entitled: "NEW HOMERIDES" for students of D.E. of the country and abroad for the school year 2021-2022 for schools in Greece and abroad.
It has been presented in the Great Propylaia of the Archaeological Site of Elefsina, in the Open Theater of Daskalopetra of Chios (1st Pan-Hellenic youth meeting of creative expression, based on the Homeric epics and their effects on the global secretariat Chios, September 14-15-16, 2022 - Vrontadou High School of Chios | Institute of Educational Policy (IEP) of the Department of School Activities of the Directorate of Education of Chios and the Directorate of Activities of the Corinthian Educational Institution, at the Alexandria Conference Center of Loutraki and at the 4th Lyceum of Corinth with the "APOSTOLOS PAVLOS" Schools of Corinth, and the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Corinth at Glykerias Moraitaki at the Municipal Theater of Piraeus.
