Monday, March 27, 2023. The educational presentation of the opera "Iliad" by Homer with music and libretto by composer Panagiotis Karousos was held with great success at the Municipal Theater of Ag.I. Rentis "Iakovos Campanellis" for the 3rd High School of Agios Ioannis Rentis. The presentation of the opera "Iliad" by Homer was held under the auspices of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and the support of the international cultural organization INTERNATIONAL ACTION ART and the Municipality of Nice Nikaia - Ag. Ioannis Rentis. The opera was performed by the excellent lyric singers: Irini Konsta (Beautiful Helen), Olga Skekliou (Ekavi), Yannis Dareios (Paris), Nina Yatra (Vrisiida), Argyris Kontonikolau (Patroklos), Niki Zacharopoulou (Coryphaia), Vasiliki Paraskevopoulou (Chorus leader), and Christiana Manou on the piano. The Choir and Theater Group of the 3rd Gymnasium of Agios Ioannis Rentis participated, under the supervision of philologist and vice-principal Yiannoukou Eleni. Artistic Direction Panagiotis Karousos (composer). The students applauded their participating classmates and the opera singers with great enthusiasm. The opera was graced by the presence of Ioannis Maronitis, President of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands and General President of INTERNATIONAL ACTION ART, and he gave honorable mentions to the participating artists and students. Greetings were made by Maria Aravantinou, Deputy Mayor of Education of the Municipality of Nicaea - Ag. I. Renti, Kefala Alexandra, Principal of the 3rd High School of St. Ioanni Rentis, and Irini Sotou President of the Association of Parents and Guardians of the 3rd Gymnasium Ag. Ioannis Rentis.
