Sunday, October 25, 2026. At the "Manos Loizos" Cultural Venue in Nikaia, the UNESCO Club for Piraeus and the Islands and the organization "International Action Art" presented excerpts from the opera "Prometheus Bound"—composed by the internationally renowned musician Panagiotis Karousos and based on Aeschylus’s tragedy of the same name—as part of the "5 Continents" International Festival of Culture. The arias of the *Koryphaia* (Leader of the Chorus) were performed brilliantly by the celebrated singer Nadia Karagianni. She was joined by the opera’s choral ensemble—the Choir of the Panepirotic Association of Elefsina, under the direction of Eleni Gkogkou—while musicians from Kosovo provided accompaniment on traditional instruments. The Department of Ancient Dance of the Panepirotic Association of Elefsina also made a strong impression on the packed hall. Under the direction of choreographer Eleni Gkogkou—who also created the choreography—the group presented the Overture, accompanied by an audio recording from the historic performance of the work in Washington, D.C., conducted by Grant Gilman. In addition to the opera *Prometheus Bound*, the event featured dance and musical ensembles from Kosovo, Morocco, and Romania, as well as from Elefsina, Mani, Epirus, and Mykonos.
Ioannis Maronitis, President of the European and North American Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations, presented an honorary plaque to the distinguished singer Nadia Karagianni.
Ioannis Maronitis, President of the UNESCO Club for Piraeus and the Islands and General President of International Action Art, delivered a welcoming address.
