Panagiotis Karousos concert at the NUMISMATIC MUSEUM courtyard

 

The concert of Panagiotis Karousos was held on Friday, September 30, 2022 in the garden of the Numismatic Museum with great participation and complete success as part of the celebration of the European Cultural Heritage Days 2022 under the auspices of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus & Islands. Archaeologist Anastasia Rammou conveyed the message for the celebration of the European Cultural Heritage Days, and the warm greeting of the Director of the Numismatic Museum Dr. Georgios Kakavas. Notable opera singers with the honorary participation of the great popular performer Nadia Karagianni with Andreas Prionas on the piano performed Karousos songs. The concert was honored by Ioannis Maronitis, President of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus & Islands. The presentation was made by Billy Joe fashion designer, TV presenter, president of Lions club Kolonaki Sun. The outstanding Soloist artists: Rea Voudouri, Panagiotis Diplaros, Maria Kioroglou, Kleopatra Eleftheriadou, Yiannis Darreios, Argyris Kontonikolaou, Dimitris Kottaridis (cello), and Ioanna Mouzakis (piano). The rehearsals of the concert took place at the Philharmonic of the Municipality of Athens and at the Cultural Center "Kamini" of the Municipality of Galatsi. The "Cycle of art and folk songs" by Panagiotis Karousos set to music poems by great Greek and foreign poets and excerpts from his operas "Prometheus Bound" by Aeschylus and "Iliad of Homer" was presented. Among the selected audience were the Archaeologist Anastasia Rammou, Head of the Department of Exhibitions, Communication and Education of the Numismatic Museum, the protagonist of the National Opera, mezzo-soprano Maria Marketou, the writer Maria Kakavoyanni, the School Advisor Dr. Chrysoula Tsigri, businessman Yiannis Konstantinidis, Dr. Lena Benisi, Head of Cultural Affairs of Secondary Education A' Athens, etc. who praised and applauded the composer and the artists. Crowds of people flooded the garden of the Numismatic Museum and were excited by the excellent organization, and enjoyed a journey to the poetry set to music by renown composer Panagiotis Karousos
