
On Sunday, July 20, 2025, a concert by composer Panagiotis Karousos was held at the Archaeological Site of the Sanctuary of Artemis Brauronia with the collaboration of the Ephorate of Antiquities of East Attica. In the Great Stoa of Artemis Brauronia (Braurona), a Lyric concert of classical music in the form of an Ancient Orchesis with poetry set to music from ancient Greek literature was successfully presented. The soprano Maria Kioroglou beautifully performed in the form of an Ancient Orchesis the hymn to love "Eros, unconquerable in battle, Eros" from Antigone by Sophocles, and excerpts from the epic opera "Homer's Iliad". Members of the Musical Ensemble "Rhapsodes" participated, Maria Kokka (soprano), Rhea Voudouri (soprano), Maria Kioroglou (coloratura soprano), Giannos Kotzias (tenor), Giannis Darreios (tenor), Christiana Manou (piano), Panagiotis Karousos (composer). It was a wonderful musical feast, with exceptional artists, led by the leading soprano of the National Opera of Greece, Maria Kokka, in the role of Beautiful Helen. The soprano Rea Voudouri performed a hymn dedicated to the goddess Artemis, "Dance of Artemis" Ancient Orchesis in a circular form of Kalamatian rhythm. The tenor Giannis Darreios performed the Hymn to the Muse, "Sing, O Muse, of the rage of Achilles". Tenor Giannos Kotzias performed Achilles' aria "Aphthiton kleos". The choreography of the Ancient Orchesis was edited by soprano Maria Kokka. Opera on Ancient Orchesis at the Temple of Artemis Brauronia by Panagiotis Karousos. The program was presented by the internationally renowned music composer Panagiotis Karousos. The event was covered, screened and filmed by the World Philosophical Forum and Ioannis Galanis, member of the WPF Board of Directors and General Director of EN.P.A.N. (Associations for Culture and Development).
