 Η υποστράτηγος α.ε. Σοφία Παπαδάτου και ο μουσικοσυνθέτης Παναγιώτης Καρούσος υποψήφιοι περιφερειακοί σύμβουλοι της Περιφερειακής Ενότητας Κεντρικού Τομέα Αθηνών με τον Γιάννη Σγουρό - Αττική Ανεξάρτητη Αυτοδιοίκηση, παραβρέθηκαν στο Φεστιβάλ Πεντελικού Όρους του Δήμου Πεντέλης στο Μέγαρο Δουκίσσης Πλακεντίας. Εκεί συνεχάρηκαν τους καλλιτέχνες και τους διοργανωτές και συνομίλησαν με τον κόσμο και για την υποψηφιότητα τους με την παράταξη «Αττική Ανεξάρτητη Αυτοδιοίκηση» και την στήριξη τους στον Υποψήφιο Περιφερειάρχη Αττικής κ. Γιάννη Σγουρό.   

28-7-2023. Η οπερέτα "Βαφτιστικός" του Θεόφραστου Σακελλαρίδη, στο Μέγαρο Δουκίσσης Πλακεντίας στα πλαίσια του Φεστιβάλ Πεντελικού Όρους.

 Η σοπράνο Ειρήνη Κώνστα ήταν μια απαστράπτουσα Βιβίκα, πανέμορφη, με τεράστια δραματική σοπράνο φωνή, πέραν ανώτερη του ρόλου! Ο τενόρος Φίλιππος Μοδινός εντυπωσιακός Χαρμίδης (Βαφτιστικός), επίσης ανώτερος του ρόλου, με μεγάλη βερντιανικη φωνή, ενθουσίασε το κοινό και με την σκηνική του παρουσία.

Ξεχωριστό το κωμικό και θεατρικό ταλέντο του βαρύτονου Αλέξανδρου Γάβαρη (Συνταγματάρχης), όπως επίσης και του βαρύτονου Δημοσθένη Σταυριανου (Ζαχαρούλης) ο οποίος επιμελήθηκε την παράσταση αλλά και άλλες που θα επακολουθήσουν στο Φεστιβάλ Πεντελικού Όρους. Η Δέσποινα Ανάγνου άρεσε στο ρόλο της Κικής. Ωραία και η Μουσική Διεύθυνση – Ενορχήστρωση του Ορέστη Ζαφειρόπουλου.

Ο κόσμος ενθουσιάστηκε και χειροκροτούσε συνέχεια τις υπεροχές φωνές στις γνωστές μελωδίες. Δεν έπεφτε καρφίτσα με εκλεκτό κοινό με πολλούς καλλιτέχνες του χώρου να παρευρίσκοντο, μεταξύ άλλων ήταν εκεί, ο τενόρος Σταμάτης Μπερής, η μεσόφωνος Λυδία Αγγελοπούλου, ο μουσικός Αντώνης Γιαμβριάς, ο βαρύτονος Πέτρος Σαλάτας, η σοπράνο Τζένη Δριβάλα, η μεσόφωνος Μαρία Μαρκέτου, η σοπράνο Ρέα Βουδούρη, ο μουσικοσυνθέτης Παναγιώτης Καρούσος, η υποστράτηγος Σοφία Παπαδάτου, κ.α.. From New York to Hellas here I come !!!

I will be leaving today for Athens and be there Saturday. On arrival since the stone fabrication facilities fabricating the Pantelic stone for St. Nicholas Church and National Shrine are near the airport I will go there directly, before heading to the Grande Bretagne Hotel, to check the progress on the stonework left to fabricate. I had been asked by John Catsimatidis and Fr. Alex to help in the construction of St. Nicholas when construction restarted and agreed pro Bono/ for free to do so. I will be checking also in particular on the Pendelic stone fabricated on the Church’s Dome at the top where the cross will sit. In the past for cost savings it was changed to precast concrete but I donated the funds for it to be Pandelis Marble as originally designed. I wanted the cross to sit on the stone from the same stone vein as the Parthenon.

Very fond memories of heading to the Hellenic Republic two years ago today for a variety of missions from the 99th Anniversary AHEPA Supreme Convention in Athens, to checking on the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine stonework (including the Dome Panelic Marble stonework that I had donated to the church), to the Trisagion Ceremony the East Mediterranean Business Culture Alliance/ EMBCA we organized for American Philhellenic Hellenic Revolution Heroes George Jarvis and James Williams (perhaps) buried in Ayios Ioannis in Argos.

Meeting with Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister and the Cuban Delegation.-

I had a very interesting and informative time last night at a small meeting with the Cuban delegation headed by Cuba’s Deputy Prime Minister and Economic Minister Hon. Alejandro Gil Fenandez at City College of New York (CCNY) and hosted by CCNY’s President and The Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce. We discussed a number of things of mutual interest as well as the Cuban economy under the current American embargo, the ramifications to the Cuban economy relating to Covid, and how to achieve both better relations on multiple fronts including economic strategies. My questions included finding out more about the particulars relating to Cuba’s foreign investment incentives to which the delegation agreed to provide.

The Cuban delegation besides the Cuban Deputy Prime Minister included among others Cuban Ambassador Yuri Gala Lopez, the Charge d’Affaires of the Cuban Mission as well as H.E. Gerardo Penaiver Portal Ambassador, First Foreign Deputy Minister and Permanent Representative to the U.N.. The American attendees included community, political, educational and institutional and financial leaders of Greater Harlem and beyond. I am both an Executive Board Member of the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce as well as a member of CCNY’s President’s Executive Advisory Board. I have been to Cuba in the past with Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce delegations, and especially relating to the arts which triggered significant cultural exchanges. There is also a deeper Hellenic/Cuban connection including the maritime industry than most people are not aware of but a story for another time.

Composer Panagiotis Karousos was awarded at the St. George Lycabettus from Billy Joe president of Lions Club Kolonaki Sun

 

Wednesday, June 14, 2023. At the St. George Lycabettus, the internationally renowned music composer Panagiotis Karousos was awarded by the well-known fashion designer Billy Joe president of Lions Club Kolonaki Sun

In the evening, choral works by the composer P. Karousos from the opera "Homer's Iliad", namely "The Shield of Achilles" and "My Homeland Greece", and the song "The Harp of Songs" by Alphonse de Lamartine, were presented with great success. The works were performed by the excellent Lyric Song Team of the composer Panagiotis Karousos, Olga Skekliou, Irini Konsta, Giannis Darios, Niki Zacharopoulou, Nina Giatra, Argyris Kontonikolaou, Christiana Manou (piano).

Also the well-known fashion designer Billy Joe presented her fantastic creations in a Haute Couture BILLY JOE fashion show with impressive models in the Grand Balcon room overlooking the Acropolis where the event took place and cameras from the BILLY JOE tonight _Tv show.

The event was followed by a reception with a musical program by Takis Biniaris, Evi Kranideli, Nana Georgiadis, and saxophonist Angelos Kalavrytinos. Part of the income of the Lions Club KOLONAKI SUN, which belongs to the World's largest Humanitarian Organization, was given to the Environment for Urban Fauna.
