Friday, September 13. The Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands presented with great success the impressive concert of music composer Panagiotis Karousos for the 4-day Culture Festival of the 5 Continents in the event hall of the Nikaia Town Hall. The "Rhapsodes" Choir and soloists participated: Rea Voudouri (soprano), Giannos Kotzias (tenor), Giorgos Keramidaris, (tenor), Giannis Darios (tenor), Fotini Papachristou (alto). Piano: Christiana Manou. Coordination - Presentation: Rhea Voudouris. Poems set to music for the return of the Parthenon Sculptures by K. Palamas (Parthenon), I. Polemis (Caryatides), and choral songs from the opera "Prometheus Bound" were presented. Ioannis Maronitis, president of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands, awarded honorable mentions to the participating artists. Concert by music composer Panagiotis Karousos for the 4-day Culture Festival of the 5 Continents and participation of Ioannis Maronites, President of the Club for UNESCO of Piraeus and Islands also participated as a speaker at the event organized by Shede Spirits Co at the "Great Britain" hotel in Athens. The event was attended by important personalities from the cultural, political and diplomatic fields such as George A. Papandreou, former Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic and president of PA.SO.K. The composer Panagiotis Karousos is a Deputy Member of Hellenic Parliament at PASOK Movement for Change.
