Porphyra Foundation Inc. is looking for a powerful Hard Rock / Theater singer. Our Production is running this June 24th, 25th, and 26th. Each day is $300 for a total of $900 compensation.
The roles are for Emperor Basil II and Vladimir the Great.
Basil has around 8 songs and Vladimir has around 12. Most are duets though. And some backup singing is required for a few other songs. Looking for Tenors.
There are 8 rehearsals in total. Singers need to attend 4-5. Compensation $35 for each rehearsal for gas and tolls. This is a grassroots project and a fundraiser. But we do have some other paying shows as well after so it is a great opportunity.

Presents
"The story of Princess Anna Porphyrogenita"
A Porphyra Foundation Musical Inspired by Penelope Delta’s Byzantine Epics.
Come witness Emperor Basil II’s sister, Anna Porphyrogenita, and her heroic Adventures!
Due to popular demand, "Porphyra, a Grecian Rock Opera" is spotlighting Byzantine Princess Anna Porphyrogenita, in this new story telling cycle, for the Astoria Greek community. The new show is expanding Anna's background story in “Anna and Vladimir: The love that ROCKED the world,” which debuted at Carnegie Hall and Off Broadway.
Set in the year 988 AD, the Heroic Age of Basil II Emperor of Byzantium, the story chronicles Princess Anna Porphyrogenita and her world-rocking marriage to Grand Prince Vladimir of the Kievan Rus. The show also explores Penelope Delta's incredible world, as envisioned by the great author, of Emperor Basil II's Byzantine Greek Macedonian Renaissance, his struggles, victories and aspirations for his people and family.
An incredible story of Love, War and Peace brought to life through Hard Rock and Greek Folk music, dancing, actors, and a full rock orchestra.
There is also a special tribute to Epaminondas ("Epi") Stathopoulos Electric Guitar pioneer of Epiphone guitars fame!
With participation from St. Demetrios Student Clubs and featuring G.A.F.S. and the Greek American Folklore Society.
