The Hope and Light “Phoenix” of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church & National Shrine is starting to rise

The Hope and Light “Phoenix” of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church & National Shrine is starting to rise.-

It was a truly historic evening last night as we lit for the first time St. Nicholas at “Ground Zero” for a most solemn day of remembrance at the 9/11 20th Anniversary Commemoration and Memorial Service, and inaugural lighting.
Family members of the many Orthodox who died on 9/11 were there for the memorial service. May the memories of all those that perished on 9/11 and it’s aftermath be eternal.
From the ashes St. Nicholas shall rise again and I am happy and honored to have been asked to play a role leading towards its final completion after many past issues and delays. "..and I will multiply days as the phoenix. (Hebrew: chol). The phoenix hope, can wing her way through the desert skies, and still defying fortune's spite; revive from ashes and rise."
